About Monica MacDonald
Physiotherapist
Monica is a licensed Physiotherapist who works full-time at Maritime Chiropractic &
Wellness and part-time as a lab instructor at Dalhousie University. She is originally
from New Brunswick and spent the majority of her life in Fredericton before moving
to Halifax. She graduated with a BSc in Kinesiology with honours from the
University of New Brunswick and competed for the University’s Swim Team.
Growing up Monica played a variety of sports but focused most of her energy on
swimming, attending many national competitions including two Canada Summer
Games.
Monica moved to Halifax to further pursue her education at Dalhousie University.
There, she obtained a MSc in Physiotherapy and a MSc in Rehabilitation Research,
being the first to complete the dual program within the School of Physiotherapy. She
now teaches future physiotherapists at Dal. Monica’s physiotherapy interests lie in orthopaedics and vestibular rehabilitation. She has done further education on chronic pain, vestibular rehabilitation and shoulder rehabilitation and plans to take additional orthopaedic courses as well as courses on concussion rehabilitation.
Monica loves the ocean, music, and travel. Monica fuels her passion for athletics by participating in a local volleyball league and as a member of the Halifax Triathlon Club. You can also find her at various exercise classes around the city, such as Spinco and Modo Yoga.
