I have been seeing Cecelia for about a year now. She is both personable and professional, and puts you at ease the moment she enters the room. I have become very confident in her care. Cecelia has used various massage techniques to treat a number of my ailments and injuries, and goes the extra mile to demonstrate exercises and stretches to speed my recovery. She is knowledgeable about how the body works and I always leave feeling better, and looking forward to my next treatment. It is a positive experience being treated by the entire team at Maritime Chiropractic and Wellness.
In 2001, I became inflicted with pain in the right buttock area radiating down the back of the leg to the toes. It was sporadic at first, but in 2004, it became chronic. I was referred to a number of specialists who recommended different forms of treatment such as, physiotherapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathy, etc. I was prescribed different pain medications, such as, Gabapentin, Lyrica, etc. All of these different forms of treatment and , medication only relieved the pain for short periods of time, nothing long term. About 6 months ago, the pain began in the left buttock. I was in a state of despair. I went to see my chiropractor, Dr. Monique Aucoin, who has been instrumental in the treatment of my back pain. I told her how the pain had now started in my left buttock and that I didn't know how I was going to cope with the pain in both buttocks. She asked if I had tried Trigger Point Dry Needling, and if not, I should. I had my first treatment about 3 months ago and I have nothing but good things to say about this procedure. I now have very little pain in the left buttock. The pain in the right buttock, which started in 2001, is now manageable to the point where I can sit for longer periods of time and walk with minimal pain. If you are, today, where I was 6 months ago, or you're not there yet, give Trigger Point Dry Needling a try. I'm so thankful to Dr. Monique Aucoin for informing me about this form of treatment and Sarah Farquharson who continues to perform this procedure. Both are instrumental in giving me back my ability to function in my daily life with minimal pain. Give it a try! What do you have to lose! PAIN!!!!!
I sought Dr. Aucoin's help because I had a burning sensation in the back of why leg for weeks. I suspected it was due to a problem with my sciatic nerve. After assessing me, Dr. Aucoin recommended a spinal adjustment. I was apprehensive at first because of other health issues but she reassured me and was very respectful of my fears. In just a few treatments, the burning sensation in my leg was gone. It's been close to a month since my last treatment and I am pleased to say that the pain has not come back!
Having never been to a chiropractor before I was a bit uncertain about what to expect but amazed at how quickly Dr. MacPhail put me at ease. She is incredibly genuine and caring and backs this up with deep knowledge of both traditional and new chiropractic approaches. She carefully completed a detailed, targeted assessment of my body's imbalances and immediately started a strategic focused treatment plan for bringing me back into better alignment. My hamstrings, calves, and hips are finally starting to loosen up in ways I had not thought were possible and I am running pain free for the first time in years.
As someone who is nervous of manual chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Aucoin suggested I try the Spine Align. This treatment has worked wonders for my whiplash injury and the relief was almost instantaneous. I highly recommend Spine Align as a form of chiropractic treatment.
